    Compliance with regulations

According to government guidelines, water suppliers in New Zealand must comply with the new legislation now and to become a registered Water Supplier with The Water Regulator
    -Taumata Arowai.

Why do I need a Validated UV Unit?
Many existing systems in New Zealand feature old technology and bulbs that wear out over time. This is why the government has chosen that a validated UV solution now be used, by anyone deemed a water supplier, to ensure ongoing long term effective UV filtering of water.
When is the deadline to register as a water supplier?

You have until November 2025 to register as a new private Water Supplier and must have your treatment system operational by November 2028.

If you are already a registered small Water Supplier, you should have compliant equipment already installed and operational.

How do I know my water is safe to use?
With a Hallett validated UV filter, water safety is indicated by the system's operational status. A green light shows proper function and effective disinfection, ensuring your water is safe to use. Regular maintenance and monitoring of the indicator light are essential to confirm continuous safety.
What illnesses may be caused by drinking water that is contaminated or impure?
Unsafe drinking water can pose serious health risks to your family. Contaminated water can harbor harmful bacteria, viruses, and parasites, leading to a variety of illnesses. Vulnerable populations such as children, pregnant women, and the elderly are particularly susceptible to the adverse effects of contaminated water. As a drinking water supplier, you have an obligation to protect people drinking your water from the following possible illnesses.
